Additional Services

The additional services offered by Stage-USA can be used individually, otherwise they are included in the full mediation package.

Housing

Proper housing can be difficult to find in America. As a student you are obviously looking for an affordable place in a safe part of the city. Stage-USA offers support and advice to help you find a suitable place to meet your needs. Prices may vary, but keep in mind the following approximations:

  • Shared housing $400 per month
  • Studio $800 per month
  • Apartment $1100 per month (bedroom / living room / bathroom)

If you would like Stage-USA to only arrange your housing, the cost is €100,-

Insurance

In a country like America it is important that you have comprehensive health insurance. Since 2011, the U.S. State Department has required that all students entering America on a J-1 visa have purchased international health insurance. The visa package provided by Stage-USA includes this insurance at no extra charge, but you can also purchase insurance through us without using our visa service. Plus, we provide all the information needed on how to utilize health care in America.

Note: Stage-USA advises that you consult your health insurance provider in your home country to find out if you can suspend your current health insurance while you are covered under American health insurance during your internship period.

Help Desk

During your preparation to leave to America, you will definitely have many questions. For your convenience, Stage-USA offers a help desk open 7 days a week. All you have to do is contact a Stage-USA representative and you will receive an answer within 24 hours (mostly much sooner). Also, this help desk is available during your entire program period. We also offer support for the family and friends you leave behind during your time abroad. We know how big of a step it is for you to go to America, and we know that your loved ones can be worried. Stage-USA representatives are always within reach.

Information Packet

Going to a new city with new people and new surroundings can be intimidating. To receive some preparation for this adventure, we will send you an information guide that explains everything you need to know about the United States. This will be your go-to guide during your time abroad!
