J-1 Visa

In order to participate in one of Stage-USA's programs in the United States, you need a J-1 visa. It is important that this is done professionally because each visa application is different. Stage-USA is a certified company for issuing visas and specializes in applying and processing customized visas for students.

The J-1 visa is not a regular work visa but an internship/training visa aimed at gaining experience. An important part of a J-1 visa is a detailed training plan in standard format. This plan will be drawn up by Stage-USA in collaboration with the company. With a J-1 visa you can apply for a U.S. social security number which allows you to receive a salary.

Due to changes in the J-1 visa-program in 2007, it became harder to get an internship/training course at a small company. Smaller employers will first have to have a site visit by the U.S. Department of State prior to issuing the visa application. Furthermore, employers are required to provide some extra information.
