Jr. Pastry Chef

Description

During this program, you will get hands-on experience in the field of Pastry/Baked Goods. The Jr. Pastry Chef is responsible for assisting the management with team execution of high volume and high-quality food. The culinary work in this position must follow commitments to sustainability and proper health and safety guidelines.

Tasks may include:

  • Creating desserts, pastry, and occasionally specialty menus
  • Creating specialty pastry items for events and seasonal promotions.
  • Assisting with the preparation of baked goods such as bread, rolls, muffins, biscuits, and cakes according to the recipes and production charts
  • Checking productions schedule to determine variety and quantity of goods to bake.
  • Reviewing production list with a team and preparing menu items according to standards
  • Storing foods properly in designated areas following proper dating and labeling procedures
  • Utilizing approved food production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control
  • Serving staff customer service in an efficient and friendly manner; resolve customer concerns
  • Working safely with large volume culinary equipment
